Man stabs pregnant wife to death, attacks their 2 daughters: Cops

Drew Garnier, 32, from upstate New York, was charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder. He was arrested for allegedly stabbing his pregnant wife, 29-year-old Samantha Garnier to death, just two days after Labor Day.

The attack also left their two young daughters injured, with both sustaining stab wounds.

On the night of September 4th, police responded to a domestic dispute at the Garnier family’s home on Houck Road in Masonville. Samantha, who was five months pregnant, was flown to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Their daughters, ages 6 and 9, were also wounded but are expected to recover.

Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the incident and have not revealed what transpired between Drew and Samantha when police arrived. Drew was taken into custody at the scene after receiving treatment for minor wounds and remains jailed without bail.

In addition to the murder and attempted murder charges, Drew Garnier also faces felony gun charges, including for allegedly possessing an AK-47. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Samantha’s Facebook page shows photos of happier times, with images of her and Drew alongside their daughters. She had been expecting a baby girl in February and was just two weeks away from her 30th birthday when the incident occurred.
