MAGA base erupts as Christine Pelosi — daughter of Trump’s nemesis announces run for office: ‘we fight back’
San Francisco, CA – Christine Pelosi, daughter of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), announced her candidacy on Monday, for a California State Senate seat representing San Francisco, pledging to fight for consumer rights, women’s rights, gun violence survivors, immigrants, and vulnerable communities “against the threat we face,” per a video posted on her X account.
The move, targeting the seat vacated by term-limited Sen. Scott Wiener—who is now seeking Nancy Pelosi’s long-held congressional seat—has ignited swift opposition from MAGA supporters, who flooded social media with mockery, including clown emojis and calls to reject “a mini-Nancy in the Senate.”
In the 90-second video, Christine Pelosi stated, “I’m running to represent you, San Francisco, in Sacramento, fighting for consumer rights, women’s rights, gun violence survivors, immigrants and our most vulnerable communities, against the threat we face.”
She asked, “What do we do when our freedoms are under attack? We speak up, we fight back and we organize. Power for the people, and that’s what I want to do for you.”
Pelosi, 55, a lawyer and author, has served as a Democratic National Committee delegate and founded the “4 Momma” political action committee supporting women candidates. Her platform emphasizes progressive priorities like affordable housing, climate action, and reproductive rights, per her campaign website.
The special election, triggered by Wiener’s term limit, is set for March 2026, with primary filing due December 2025, per California Secretary of State.
The seat is Wiener’s District 11, a solidly Democratic area with 80% Biden voters in 2020. Wiener announced his congressional bid on November 3, for the seat Nancy Pelosi has held since 1987, which she confirmed she’s leaving after 38 years.
Nancy Pelosi has long been seen as Donald Trump’s political nemesis — a fierce and unrelenting adversary who challenges his every move. As a leading Democrat and former Speaker of the House, Pelosi has repeatedly clashed with Trump over policy, power, and principles.
She embodies the opposition to his agenda, criticizing his leadership, questioning his integrity, and symbolizing resistance within Washington’s power struggle.

The backlash, with over 15,000 replies in 24 hours, reflects ongoing GOP animosity toward Nancy Pelosi, Trump’s “bogeywoman” since 2019, per Politico.

Christine’s bid could solidify Democratic control of District 11, with 2024 turnout at 72% for Biden. Wiener’s congressional run opens the field to challengers like Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s potential successor.
The primary will test progressive strength in a state where 62% oppose Trump’s policies.
