Woman who surveilled two underage boys for days, groped them in the pool and called them “daddy” while “moaning”, now claimed she was only saving herself from drowning
In Oklahoma, a 28-year-old woman named Kayla R. Lena has been apprehended and charged with groping two underage boys at a public swimming pool. She allegedly told law enforcement that her actions were an attempt to save herself from drowning. Court records show that Lena faces two counts of lewd or indecent acts involving minors under 16.
The incident occurred on June 30, 2024, at the Eagle Harbor Aquatic Center, situated in the 4500 block of 1/2 SE 15th Street, approximately 6 miles from Oklahoma City. Lena is accused of touching the boys, aged 12 and 13, inappropriately and in a manner intended to arouse, as detailed in the court documents.
Specifically, the criminal complaint alleges that Lena engaged in inappropriate physical contact with the boys while “moaning” and calling them “Daddy.”
Del City Police Public Information Officer Major Brad Cowden, in a news briefing, stated that the boys reported Lena grabbed them inappropriately, made lewd remarks and attempted to undress them in the public area.
Statements from the victims and witnesses at the pool suggest that Lena had targeted these two boys repeatedly over several days. Major Cowden noted that while the prior incidents were not witnessed, the episode on June 30 had multiple observers.
Lifeguards on duty reported seeing Lena follow the boys around the pool, touching their groin and buttocks areas. They promptly removed her from the pool area, and responding officers found her waiting at the facility after a 911 call from the victims.
Body camera footage from the arrest shows Lena initially denying the accusations before asking to contact her grandmother. Cowden stated that Lena claimed to have grabbed one of the boys because she thought she was drowning and needed to pull herself up. However, her account did not align with the victims’ or witnesses’ statements.
