Mark Epstein Insists New Autopsy Report in February Will Finally ‘Prove’ Brother Jeffrey Was Snuffed Out

Mark Epstein, the younger brother of convicted s*x trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, continues to insist that new autopsy-related report scheduled for release in February will conclusively “prove” his brother was murdered rather than having died by suicide in August 2019.

In a high-profile interview with NewsNation on Friday, Mark reiterated his long-held belief that Jeffrey’s death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center was a homicide, alleging a deliberate cover-up by federal authorities and raising pointed questions about who may have benefited from silencing his brother.

Jeffrey Epstein was discovered dead in his cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving dozens of underage victims. The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner officially ruled the death a suicide by hanging.

Mark, who personally identified the body, immediately rejected that conclusion and hired renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden, who publicly stated that the evidence—including neck fractures and ligature marks pointed more toward homicide than suicide.

Despite multiple official investigations, including a comprehensive June 2023 report by the FBI and Department of Justice that found “no credible evidence of foul play,” Mark has never accepted the suicide ruling.

In July 2025, he told NBC News: “More and more, I believe he was murdered. And everyone who looks at all the information that’s out there on facts comes to the same conclusion.”

In the January 9 NewsNation interview, Mark doubled down with new confidence: “More autopsy facts will be coming out in February that prove it.” He specifically pointed to injuries on Jeffrey’s body that he said “didn’t correspond to the way his body was found hanging.”

Mark outlined the three possible causes of death in a prison setting: “Suicide, natural causes or murder.” He stated unequivocally: “And Jeff was murdered. I want to know who killed him and on whose behalf?”

He accused previous investigations of being a “cover-up,” asking pointedly: “Why the charade? Who are they trying to protect?”

Mark also directly rejected recent comments from Jeffrey’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted in 2021 of s*x trafficking and currently serving a 20-year sentence. In August 2025, Maxwell stated she did not “see” a murder taking place, though she acknowledged it was “of course” possible. She added: “If it is indeed murder, I believe it was an internal situation.”

Mark dismissed Maxwell’s remarks in the NewsNation interview: “I wouldn’t trust anything she says. She never saw the body or talked to Jeff before he died.” He has consistently portrayed Maxwell as unreliable on the question of Jeffrey’s death.

Earlier Allegations Involving Trump and the Files

Mark’s skepticism has not been limited to the manner of death. In a November 18, 2025 phone interview with NewsNation, he claimed an unnamed source informed him that names of conservative politicians were being deliberately redacted from the Epstein files to shield Republicans from implication.

Days later, on November 20 during an appearance on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront, Mark alleged that President Donald Trump deliberately delayed the release of the Epstein files under the Transparency Act. He went further, claiming Jeffrey possessed “incriminating” information on Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign—information so damaging it could have “canceled the election.”

“He didn’t tell me what he knew,” Mark said, “but Jeffrey definitely had dirt on Trump.”

The Justice Department has repeatedly dismissed such claims as “untrue and sensationalist,” asserting they lack credibility and would have been “weaponized” earlier if true.

Ongoing Releases and Persistent Questions

The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed by Trump in November 2025, required full public disclosure of related documents by December 19. The DOJ has released partial batches, facing criticism for delays, heavy redactions, and temporary removals of sensitive items—including photos and documents featuring Trump.

The anticipated February revelations Mark referenced could reignite debate over the manner of Jeffrey’s death, though previous forensic reviews and official investigations have consistently upheld the suicide determination.

Mark’s persistence has kept the question alive for years. Whether the upcoming evidence meets his expectations or further entrenches the official narrative, his refusal to accept the conclusion that Jeffrey Epstein simply took his own life ensures the controversy endures.

For Mark Epstein, the search for truth is both personal and unrelenting. As the document releases continue and public scrutiny intensifies, his claims remain a persistent challenge to the official record—one that refuses to accept the conclusion that Jeffrey Epstein’s death was a simple suicide.

The truth, Mark insists, is still waiting to be proven. And with the February autopsy-related disclosures on the horizon, the long-running mystery may soon face its next and potentially decisive chapter.
