Man Used ‘Terrified’ 11-Year-Old Girl as ‘Human Shield’ Before Beating Up Police Officer
A 34-year-old Missouri man, Jeffrey Price, was arrested after allegedly using an 11-year-old girl as a “human shield” and then beating the living daylight out of a police officer.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday at a trailer park in Moscow Mills, located approximately 50 miles northwest of St. Louis. Price’s mother called the police, expressing concern that her son was “not acting right.”
Prior to this call, police had responded to the trailer park about an hour earlier when Price was banging on the door of a trailer, mistakenly believing his ex-wife was inside. When officers returned, they found Price standing in front of another trailer. He fled inside when confronted by a police officer, despite not living there.
Inside the trailer, Price grabbed the girl by the neck and used her as a human shield, placing his hand against her neck as if he were wielding a weapon. The girl appeared “terrified,” according to the arrest affidavit.
When the officer attempted to intervene, Price lunged at her. The officer managed to free the girl, who ran outside, but Price then attacked the officer, striking her in the head repeatedly.
Price blocked the door as the struggle continued, and despite the officer’s attempts to de-escalate the situation by stating she did not want to hurt him, he responded with, “I’m an assassin.”
Two deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office soon entered the trailer and subdued Price after using a Taser.
During the altercation, the officer sustained swelling to the head, and one deputy broke two fingers. Officers also discovered a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine in Price’s possession.

Price faces multiple charges, including two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault, and felony resisting arrest. He had been released from prison just a week prior to the incident and was on parole for stealing and third-degree domestic assault.
