Like a woman scorned, Marjorie Taylor Greene keeps watering down Trump’s policies — and he can’t seem to handle it
Washington, D.C. – On November 10, President Donald Trump publicly distanced himself from longtime ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), stating in the Oval Office, “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a nice woman, but I don’t know what’s happened. She’s lost her way, I think. But I have to view the presidency as a worldwide situation, not locally.”
The comments, in response to a CNN question about Greene’s X post criticizing Trump’s focus on foreign policy during a meeting with Syrian President Amad al-Sharaa, signal deepening tensions in the GOP as Greene’s breaks with Trump mount.
Greene’s X post targeted Trump’s White House meeting with al-Sharaa, who rose to power in December 2024 and sanctions on Syria were lifted in June 2025.
“Former Al Qaeda terrorist wanted by our government,” Greene wrote, noting the date marked the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps. “He rose to power in Dec 2024, sanctions were lifted off Syria in June, and many Christians and minority groups have been killed before and after sanctions were lifted.”
She added, “I really like to see nonstop meetings at the WH on domestic policy not foreign policy and foreign country’s leaders. Start by hauling in the health insurance company’s executives and let’s start formulating our Republican plan to save America from Obamacare and ACA tax credits that have skyrocketed the cost of health insurance.”

Trump replied, “I mean, we could have a world that’s on fire where wars come to our shores very easily if you had a bad president. We had a horrible president, and we ended up with Russia/Ukraine.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s “Revenge Tour” Claim
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) alleged on November 5, Greene is on a “revenge tour” like a woman scorned after Trump blocked her 2025 Georgia Senate run.
“She wanted to run for Senate… Trump told her no, and the White House shut down Marjorie Taylor Greene’s personal ambitions… and she has been on a revenge tour ever since.”
Greene, a former staunch Trump supporter since 2019, has clashed with him on numerous occasions. The fallout began in June 2025, when she admitted she “didn’t read” the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and criticized its AI regulation limits, per CNN.
On June 22, she slammed Trump’s bombing of three Iranian nuclear sites: “I’m sick of funding foreign aid and foreign countries and foreign everything. I want to fund American interests and issues.”
Greene has also criticized the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein files, demanding that they be released.
