Jameela Jamil Calls Out Hypocrisy of Celebrities at 2023 Met Gala

Jameela Jamil Criticizes Met Gala's 'Famous Feminists' for Celebrating 'Known Bigot' Karl Lagerfeld, Citing Double Standards in Liberal Politics and Trust Issues

Jameela Jamil, the popular actor from “The Good Place” and “She-Hulk,” has taken to Instagram to call out the hypocrisy of many celebrities who attended the 2023 Met Gala, which paid tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Despite Lagerfeld’s bigoted comments against fat women, attendees such as Jared Leto and Doja Cat dressed up as Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette and celebrated the designer’s legacy. Jamil criticized the many outspoken feminist celebrities who chose to celebrate a man who was publicly cruel to women, fat people, immigrants and sexual assault survivors.

Jamil stated that the attendees, women publications and online spectators all ignored the fact that Lagerfeld had made bigoted comments. She called out the selective cancel culture within liberal politics and how it erases the truth. The actor believes that if the liberals carry on like this, they will lose the next election.

Jamil noted that it was not just Hollywood that participated in the erasure of truth but also the general public online, who replaced their pitchforks with spoons to lap up the hypocrisy. Jamil’s post received an outpouring of support from her followers, who agreed with her views.
