Illinois Mother Charged with Attempted Murder After Allegedly Stabbing Her Three Young Children

A 23-year-old Illinois woman, Aurionah-Rakii-Karie Parker-White, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated battery to a child following a violent incident at her Chicago residence involving her three children, aged 1, 3, and 5.

According to prosecutors, the children were discovered on Wednesday by a tow truck driver, DeVaughen Stringfellow, outside their apartment. Parker-White’s 1-year-old daughter was reportedly found wearing only a blood-soaked diaper. Stringfellow told local media that he witnessed Parker-White carrying another child, also covered in blood, and pleading for help.

“She kept screaming, ‘I need help! Help me! My baby! I called the police! They didn’t come!’” Stringfellow said in an interview. He ultimately transported the family to a nearby hospital despite initial hesitation due to the visible injuries and blood.

Upon arrival, hospital staff found that all three children had sustained wounds to their wrists. They were admitted in serious condition. Investigators at the scene noted a trail of blood leading from the apartment to the street.

In court documents, prosecutors revealed that Parker-White admitted to stabbing the children, stating she was overwhelmed by the challenges of raising them alone. Hospital personnel, including a nurse and a security guard, reportedly told police that Parker-White claimed she acted because she had “no help.”

One of the children, a 5-year-old boy, allegedly told hospital staff that his mother had tried to “make them go to heaven.” He was also reported to have comforted her after the incident, saying, “It’s gonna be alright,” and urging her not to cry.

Parker-White also allegedly told police she intended to take her own life.
