Florida Pair Arrested for Neglect After Child Found Running Naked in Traffic, ‘Covered in his own Feces’
32-year-old Jacob Roberson and Danielle 34-year-old Roberson have been charged with five counts of child neglect after a young child was found running naked across multiple lanes of traffic and later discovered covered in his own feces.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday following the alarming incident.
Authorities were first alerted on Sunday morning around 9 a.m. when a young child was seen running naked in the area of Green Acres Road and Green Acres Boulevard. Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene to find the boy running across four lanes of traffic, narrowly avoiding being hit by vehicles.
Deputies quickly secured the child, who was covered in his own feces, and cleaned him up before wrapping him in a towel.
The deputies recognized the child and brought him to a nearby home in Fort Walton Beach, located about five miles from where the boy was found. Upon arrival, they encountered another naked child running near the house. This second child was also found to have feces on their body.
Further investigation into the home revealed deplorable living conditions, including prescription medications within easy reach of five children, all of whom were under the age of 12.
The state of the home and the children’s condition led to the child neglect charges against the Robersons.
