Chilling video shows an inmate crawling past officers to ‘rape’ woman in the jail intake area: Police

An Arizona man, Justin Avery, is facing additional sexual assault charges after allegedly sneaking past jail guards to sexually assault a woman while detained.

Initially arrested in April for allegedly assaulting multiple women near the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, Avery was caught on surveillance video at the Intake Transfer and Release Facility crawling backward along an official’s desk.

Reports indicate that Avery successfully approached a sleeping woman and lowered his pants.

Another woman who witnessed the incident confronted him, telling him to “get off her,” to which he crudely responded, urging her to be quiet. This prompted a nearby officer to call for backup.

In a disturbing revelation, Avery admitted to police that he had crawled like a “spider” toward the victim and expressed a desire to “rape” her based on her physical appearance. As a result of this incident, he was charged with an additional count of sexual assault.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office expressed shock at Avery’s actions, calling the situation “extremely unusual.” They stated this was the first incident of its kind since the facility opened four years ago.

In response, authorities have implemented additional measures, including the installation of mirrors to improve monitoring in previously identified blind spots.
