Adam Kinzinger calls Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘the biggest con artist ever’ — exposes why she’s really breaking from Trump

Austin, TX – Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), a vocal Trump critic, accused Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of orchestrating her public feud with President Donald Trump as a calculated bid for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination, branding her “the biggest con artist ever” who “has not found Jesus” during a November 15, panel at the Texas Tribune Festival.

Kinzinger’s remarks, met with audience laughter, drew parallels to Trump’s 2015 entry, “We giggled when Trump wanted to run in 2015, right? So, she may be figuring that if… ‘I go on The View and I do this one lane here, maybe… I can trick people.’ But keep in mind, this is still the same lady that chased down victims of school gun violence, right? And called them cosplay actors and stuff like that.”

The comments come amid Greene’s escalating break from Trump over Epstein file release, with the Georgia congresswoman texting the president November 14, demanding transparency—a move she claims triggered Trump’s Truth Social attack labeling her “‘Wacky’ Marjorie” and threatening a 2026 primary endorsement against her.

Kinzinger’s ‘Con Artist’ Accusation

Speaking to a packed Austin Convention Center crowd, Kinzinger said: “Marjorie Taylor Greene is the biggest con artist ever, by the way. Like, she has not found Jesus.” He tied her Epstein advocacy and domestic-focus pivot to ambition: “She clearly wants to run for president.”

Greene, responding to Trump’s November 14, post, wrote on X: “President Trump just attacked me and lied about me. I haven’t called him at all, but I did send these text messages today. Apparently this is what sent him over the edge. The Epstein files.”

She accused Trump of intimidating Republicans ahead of the House vote: “It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level.” Greene added: “Most Americans wish he would fight this hard to help the forgotten men and women of America who are fed up with foreign wars and foreign causes, are going broke trying to feed their families, and are losing hope of ever achieving the American dream.”

In a separate November 15, X post, Greene decried the “toxic political industrial complex” without naming Trump: “I believe in the American people more than I believe in any leader or political party and the American people deserve so much better than how they have been treated by both sides of the aisle.”

Epstein Files at the Heart of the Feud

The rift centers on Epstein files. On November 12, House Oversight Democrats released thousands of pages suggesting Trump knew of Epstein’s activities. The full House votes November 20, on a bill mandating DOJ release, though Senate passage and presidential veto remain hurdles. Trump calls it a “hoax.”

Greene’s November 10, criticism of Trump’s Syria meeting with Amad al-Sharaa—labeled a “former Al Qaeda terrorist”—escalated tensions. Trump responded November 10: “She’s lost her way.”

Kinzinger dismissed Greene’s shift, appearances on The View (October 29), where she disavowed QAnon and criticized Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and calls for ACA fixes. Sunny Hostin said, “I feel like I’m sitting next to a completely different Marjorie Taylor Greene.” Joy Behar: “Maybe you should become a Democrat, Marjorie.” Greene: “I’m not a Democrat. I think both parties have failed.”
