Woman ‘floored’ car into partner during fight on way to couple’s therapy

A woman in Minnesota has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly driving her car into her boyfriend during a heated argument as they were on their way to couple’s therapy.

The incident occurred in Fergus Falls on a Saturday.

30-year-old Veronica Roleen Gast and her boyfriend, who has not been identified, had been quarreling throughout the day when the boyfriend revealed that he no longer believed their relationship was working, according to police.

This revelation led to an explosive argument as they were driving to their therapy session.

In a fit of rage, Gast allegedly stopped the car in the middle of traffic and demanded that her boyfriend get out. As he was walking in front of the vehicle to reach the sidewalk, Gast stared him down and then “floored” the car, deliberately hitting him.

The boyfriend was thrown onto the windshield and over the hood of the car, resulting in a back injury and a cut on his right elbow.

Gast later admitted to police that she hit her boyfriend with the car but claimed it was accidental, saying she was upset and not paying attention.

Gast has been charged with second-degree assault, gross negligence, domestic assault and criminal vehicular operation causing bodily harm.
