Teen girl puts a bullet in 16-year-old boy while playing with gun, pointing it at each other

A teenage girl is facing criminal charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 16-year-old David Anthony Vargas Acker, according to authorities.

The tragic incident occurred on July 30 in Orange County, Florida, while David, the girl, and another friend were reportedly playing with a gun.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, David brought the gun to a home on Easton Street, where the group began pointing it at each other and posing with it. The situation took a fatal turn when the girl aimed the weapon at David and pulled the trigger, leading to his untimely death.

The young girl has been charged as a juvenile with aggravated manslaughter of a child. Authorities took her into custody on Wednesday.
David’s death has left his family devastated. His loved ones described him as a joyful and loving person who brought happiness wherever he went.

“He was only 16 and had so much more life ahead of him. He was always so full of joy,” his family shared on a GoFundMe page set up to cover funeral expenses and legal fees. “David brought laughter, happiness, and light into every room he entered. This tragedy has left a huge void not only in our lives but in everyone who had the privilege to experience David.”

David Acker was the fourth of six children in his family. He had plans to graduate early from high school and join his father in the contracting business. His mother, Veronica Acker, expressed the deep pain the family is going through, stating, “David was the glue that kept this family together.”

David’s parents, overwhelmed with grief, spoke about the profound impact his loss has had on them. His father, David Vargas, shared the emotional toll, saying, “I haven’t eaten in three days. Can’t stop crying. I wake up crying, go to sleep crying.”
