Mother Accused of Hiring Contract Killer to Murder Her 12-Year-Old Daughter
Authorities in Russia have detained a 46-year-old woman, identified only as Svetlana, on suspicion of arranging a contract killing of her 12-year-old daughter.
The incident occurred in the Chelyabinsk region, where the mother allegedly offered a male acquaintance approximately £930 (100,000 rubles) to drown the child in a nearby river.
According to law enforcement, the daughter had been eavesdropping behind a door when she overheard her mother plotting her murder. Svetlana reportedly justified her actions by citing a strained relationship with the child, describing herself as “tired” of the girl’s behavior and their “constant arguments.”
The man approached to carry out the killing, identified as 36-year-old Andrey, was sent out with the girl under the pretense of executing the plan. However, as they walked together, the frightened child confided in him.
Andrey then disclosed the murder plot to her, assured her of her safety, and took her to his home for protection before alerting the authorities.
He later informed police that Svetlana had offered him money to drown the child in the Bolshaya Karaganka River. Following his report, officers apprehended the mother, who is now facing charges of incitement to murder a minor. If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison.
During interrogation, Svetlana reportedly failed to provide a coherent explanation for her alleged actions.
