Man tailgates a woman, then laughs before running her over, dragging her several feet along the side of the road with his Jeep

A Florida man has been charged with attempted murder following a shocking road rage incident in which he allegedly ran over a woman with his Jeep, causing her severe injuries.

The incident took place on U.S. 19 South in Largo, near the intersection with East Bay Drive.

The victim, Jermeria Holycross, was tailgated by Boris Twillman, who hit the rear bumper of her car. When she pulled over to assess the damage ge and got out of her vehicle, Twillman accelerated his 2016 Jeep Wrangler, intentionally hitting her and pinning her against her own car.

Witnesses reported that Twillman laughed maniacally at Holycross before hitting the gas. Holycross was dragged several feet along the side of the road, suffering a broken pelvis, broken leg, broken rib, multiple lacerations, scrapes and burns.

In addition to her physical injuries, her aunt, Misty Moore, said that Holycross is experiencing significant psychological trauma, particularly the haunting memory of Twillman’s laugher as he struck her.

Arrest report revealed Twillman left the scene after the incident, but his vehicle was later found at his residence. He had left the house in his girlfriend’s vehicle before officers arrived.

Twillman did call the Largo Police Department afterward, claiming that “something” had happened on U.S. 19 but denied being involved in a crash. Surveillance footage from the area, however, placed Twillman’s vehicle near the scene of the incident at a time consistent with the attack.

The Largo Police Department described Twillman’s actions as “extremely dangerous and reckless” in a statement to local news. The incident occurred while Holycross was driving with her younger brother and her boyfriend’s two toddlers in the car.

Her mother, Tammy Holycross, recounted how her daughter tried to avoid Twillman, who continued to tailgate her. After Twillman rear-ended her, Holycross stepped out to check the damage, only to be run down in front of the terrified children.

Tammy Holycross described the traumatic scene, with the children witnessing the young woman’s face hit the glass of the car and seeing her bleed profusely.

At the time of this incident, Twillman was already out on bail for multiple felony charges, including aggravated battery and aggravated assault from a previous incident in April.

Those charges were connected to an altercation involving Twillman’s mother and son. For the attempted murder charge, Twillman’s bond was set at $850,000, and an additional $125,000 was set for the charge of leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury.
