Intoxicated Ohio dad teaching son, 9, how to drive run over by vehicle: Police
In Toledo, Ohio, 36-year-old Clejuan Williams was hospitalized after a tragic accident in which his 9-year-old son ran him over while he was teaching the child to drive.
The incident occurred on Carbon Street, where surveillance video captured Williams standing at the open driver’s side door instructing his son.
When Williams told the boy to press the brake, the child accidentally hit the gas, causing the car to reverse, drag Williams into the street, and crash into a telephone pole. Williams was pulled under the car and run over. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, though his current condition remains undisclosed.
Williams was intoxicated during the incident, police reported. His son and another child in the backseat were unharmed. Following the event, Williams was arrested on charges of child endangerment and allowing an unlicensed person to operate a vehicle. His court date is set for October 16.
