Vicious Pit Bull Mauled Toddler to Death Inside Her Family Home

An 18-month-old girl from Newark, New Jersey, was tragically mauled to death by a vicious pit bull inside her family’s home on Tuesday afternoon.

The toddler had wandered away from a “careless” babysitter who was responsible for watching her when the dog attacked her inside Second Avenue home in Newark, according to officials.

The child was immediately rushed to University Hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries after suffering what the Essex County prosecutor’s office described as “horrific and serious injuries from an apparent canine attack.”

Animal Control removed the pit bull and another dog from the home. Authorities are investigating whether the second dog was also involved in the attack.

Neighbors were left horrified by the incident. Kawhon Jahyne, a neighbor, said “They tell me today that these people have an 18-month-old baby that was ripped apart by a pit bull or ferocious dog. That’s the most horrific thing that can happen to anyone on earth.”
