Kidnapper who escaped police custody, kidnapped the same victim again

A fugitive from Columbus, Ohio, who previously kidnapped a woman less than two months ago has struck again, targeting the same victim.

38-year-old Quinntel Maurice Bagley, who had evaded police capture in mid-June, reportedly resurfaced to abduct the woman a second time.

On Friday morning, Grove City police reported that the woman claimed Bagley had kidnapped her from her home and taken her to the west side of Columbus.

“The female stated she was able to get away from Bagley unharmed,” the police reported, adding that she last saw him near Eureka Avenue and West Broad Street. Bagley had a history with the woman, including a kidnapping incident on June 13, 2024.

“Bagley wore dark clothing and a mask during the second abduction. You should treat him as armed and dangerous,” Lt. Jason Stern of Grove City police said. “We are asking for any help anyone can offer. If you see him, call us right away, call 911,” he added.

Bagley had first kidnapped the woman from her home early in the morning on June 13. Her car was later found abandoned, and she was discovered at a local gas station. Bagley, who has a criminal history including a 10-year prison sentence for kidnapping, was soon arrested.

However, the charges of rape were dropped in a plea deal. Bagley is currently listed on the Ohio sex offender registry.

Bodycam footage from June captures Grove City officers escorting Bagley out of Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. Despite being handcuffed, Bagley managed to break free from an officer’s grip and escaped through the parking lot.

Authorities have placed a $10,000 bounty for information leading to Bagley’s capture. U.S. Marshals are urging anyone with information to call their Columbus office at 614-469-5540. Bagley is considered armed and dangerous, suicidal and an escape risk.
