Adam Conover: How David Zaslav Contributed to the Writers' Strike

Comedian Adam Conover slammed David Zaslav, the Warner Bros. Discovery CEO during a CNN interview, despite the fact that Zaslav oversees the company that aired the program.

Conover slammed Zaslav for his outrageous salary of $250 million last year, equivalent to what 10,000 writers are collectively demanding. He couldn’t resist calling out Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos as well, who enjoyed a whopping 32% increase in pay to $50.3 million in 2022.

Conover, who is a member of the Writers Guild of America and creator of the hit show “Adam Ruins Everything,” pointed out that many writers are struggling to pay their bills, while companies like Warner Bros. Discovery and Netflix are making record profits.

“I know writers who have to go on assistance. And yet, these companies are making more money than ever. It’s like they’re swimming in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck while their writers are barely making enough to buy a can of beans,” Conover said.

The WGA staged a picket in New York City and Los Angeles, targeting studios like Fox, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Paramount Global, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros.
